We have been studying the past and present. The students love learning about what life was like for kids in the past. We are planning two special history sharing. December 2nd and 3rd I am asking your child to bring something to share from the past. It can be an item from when they were a baby, an item of yours or maybe you have something from Grandma and Grandpa. We try and take care of our sharing items as well as we can but if you are worried about the item getting damaged send something else....it is a first grade room and accidents happen. Thanks for your help!

Down by the Bay
We have been having fun reading & singing "Down by the Bay."
While we read this story, we reviewed rhyming words, learned about verbs and searched them in various stories. A word chunk that was introduced to go with the story was "~ing." Whenever your child is writing "~ing" words at home, please reinforce the spelling pattern. Young children tend to write "en" for "ing!"
We also wrote and illustrated our own verse for the song. Enjoy!
